Potty Training

Yes I have started potty training my little boy who is almost 18months old. People look at me weird and say rude comments about it. But my daughter was potty trained when she was 18months old and I know I can do it again.

I just wanted to pass along this potty training book. It gives you tons of great tips for getting started. She also talks about how much money you will save from not buying diapers. It is written by a mother who also taught preschool and helped potty train a lot of her students.

She isn't a doctor or phsycologist but a mother who has been there and accomplished it. The book is usually $17 dollars but she is running a sale right now for $7 dollars. And you can just download it onto your desktop. No waiting for it to come in the mail.

So good luck and I hope it helps!

What Dads Can't Do

We just brought this book home from the library and I thought it was too cute!  Devon looked at the title and said, "Gee, thanks!"  :-)  It's all the stuff Dad's can't do, like:  Dads can't hide very well (picture of dad hiding behind a skinny tree), Dads can't cross the street without holding hands, etc.  I think it's going to be our next Father's day present.

AMERICA

This book is a favorite of ours around July 4th. I wanted to pass it along.

Lynne Cheney has loved American history since she was a child and hopes to help today's children love it too. "America's story is a compelling one," she says, "and it helps us understand how fortunate we are to live in freedom."

This book is great for all ages. It goes through the ABC's for the little ones and also more in depth info about the history of America for the older kids.

A is for America, the land that we love. B is for the Birthday of this nation of ours. C is for the Consitution that binds us together.

More in depth: The Constitution has been the framework for our government for more than two hundred years.

This book has brought a lot back to me. There is a lot of facts and different things that I just can't remember from Junior High and High school so it is also great for the mommies.

Every book is different so I figured I would ask all of you. Lunch & Dinner options would be great too. Thanks a million!

KNUFFLE BUNNY

SOME OF OUR FAVORITE BOOKS! They are age appropriate for a broad range and in that I mean that these books keep the attention of my 2 year old, 3 year old, AND 5 year old. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

STRUGGLE AT CHURCH?

Okay so does anyone struggle during sacrament meeting with their kids?? I'm sure I'm the only one ;). Honestly, up until about 3 months ago, I would have rather run a marathon than sit through sac mtng with my kids. And I even felt like I was the mom that came 110% prepared. From loading up on the quiet church activities, coloring books, snacks, beads to string, home made picture books...YOU NAME IT. But why was it always so miserable if I was always so prepared? I'll tell you why. BECAUSE I HAD TOO MUCH STUFF. After talking to a friend of mine who has 3 kids same age as mine, I decided to try what she does. And that's bring NOTHING. I didn't want to cut cold turkey so I started out by JUST bringing one little snack for each kid (b/c you have to have the same thing for each kid to avoid fighting of course) and then ONE COLORING BOOK FOR EACH KID. Let me just tell you how well improved our sacrament mtngs have been since then...BLISSFUL!!! There's way less fighting, bickering, and just less noise in general. Today was the first time we showed up with NOTHING- not even a snack for each of them. Once again, a successful Sunday! Alright- successful would be an overstatement- but definately one of the best ones we've had! Any other suggestions to make church a more pleasant experience??

Ok Ok I'll do the second post

Do any of you moms out there feel you are not doing the best job at being a mom and feel you could do better? Sometimes I feel that I am just not cut out for this mom thing and find myself overwhelmed. I am trying to potty train my 3 year old, teach him how to share, how to be appropriate when we have company, not to hit his sister so much and I feel that I am failing miserably. Then there are times that I don't feel like cooking dinner and end up having cereal "Again" for dinner.
I know I do some things right but not all the rights at the same time... (Does that make sense?)
Please tell me that I am not the only one and I have not lost my marbles completely.
